2. What information we collect
When you send an enquiry through this website we collect the details you enter: your name, phone number, postcode, the service you need, and, if you choose to give them, your email address, a description of the problem and photos.
When you call or message us (including on WhatsApp) we receive your phone number and whatever you tell or send us.
Information about how you found us. When you send an enquiry, we also record the page you were on, the page you first arrived on, the website you came from, and any advert or campaign details in the link you clicked (for example UTM tags and Google click identifiers). This tells us which of our adverts and pages lead to enquiries. Whether this information is remembered between pages depends on your cookie choices (see section 5).
Analytics and advertising data. If, and only if, you allow it in the cookie banner, Google tools may collect information about your visit, such as pages viewed, device and approximate location. See our cookie policy.
3. How and why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in running our business.
- To carry out and manage a job, including scheduling, invoicing and keeping records. Lawful basis: performing a contract with you, and legal obligations (such as accounting records).
- To understand which adverts and pages lead to enquiries, so we can run our marketing sensibly. Lawful basis: your consent for anything stored on your device or collected through analytics and advertising tools, and our legitimate interest in measuring how enquiries reach us.
- To protect the website and prevent spam. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
We will only contact you about your enquiry or job, unless you tell us you would like to hear from us about anything else. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Who we share it with
We use a small number of providers to run the website and our business. They only process your information on our instructions, or under their own terms where they are independent controllers.
- Formspree receives and forwards the details you enter in the enquiry form, including photos if you add them.
- A customer relationship management (CRM) system (we plan to use GoHighLevel) to log and follow up enquiries, quotes and jobs.
- Google (Tag Manager, Analytics and Ads) but only if you allow analytics or advertising cookies.
- WhatsApp (Meta) if you choose to message us there. Their privacy policy applies to that conversation.
- Our website host and network provider (Cloudflare), which delivers this website to you.
- Professional advisers, insurers and authorities where we are required to by law.
Some of these providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens we rely on an appropriate safeguard, such as an adequacy decision, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
This site sets nothing that is not essential until you choose. With your permission it may also use analytics and advertising technologies. You can change your mind at any time using "Cookie settings" in the footer. Details are in our cookie policy.
6. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any job that follows, and afterwards for a reasonable period for our business and accounting records. Photos you send are kept with the enquiry or job record. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings of the tools used.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information, in some circumstances;
- ask us to restrict or stop using your information, in some circumstances;
- object to us using your information for our legitimate interests;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent (this does not affect what happened before); and
- ask for your information in a portable format, in some circumstances.
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above.
8. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by calling 0303 123 1113.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
